My Kilimanjaro experience was transformative. From the beginning, our tour operator was incredibly informative and helped us prepare adequately. The porters and guides were not only helpful but became friends who cheered us on every step of the way. The night before the final ascent was tough, but seeing the sunrise from Uhuru Peak was a dream come true
The climb was more challenging than I expected, and although I didn't make it to the summit, I still found the journey rewarding. The tour company was excellent, but I wish I had trained more and possibly chosen a longer route for better acclimatization.
Overall, the tour was well-organized, but the crowds on the Marangu route somewhat diminished the experience. If I were to do it again, I'd choose a less popular route. However, the cultural interactions and stunning landscapes made up for any downsides.
